P R E P A R A T I O N :
Kawakawa can be prepared as a tea or infusion. Teas are made by steeping flowers, leaves and stems in boiled water for 10 - 15 minutes. Infusions are similar to teas, but the herbs are steeped longer, in hot water, so that they are stronger than teas. Steep for 4 hours or longer. Decoctions are made by bringing roots, barks and hard berries to boil in water. Steep with the lid on for a further 5 minutes.
Into a plunger, infuser or china teapot place a teaspoon of herb to 250mls of boiled water. For full therapeutic benefit, take 3 cups per day for three months, otherwise enjoy a refreshing cup of herbal tea any time of the day.
50g net makes up to 30 cups.
