D R I E D M U L L E I N L E A F & F L O W E R
Mullein is a useful and versatile herb. Mullein's expectorant and anti-bacterial properties are scientifically proven to be an effective remedy for the treatment of bronchitis, asthma, allergies, flus and colds. Mullein is my go to when I have a cough - she takes away the hack.
Drinking mullein has been found useful in curing a wide array of digestive problems such as constipation, haemorrhoids, diarrhoea and bladder infections.
Mullein has sedative benefits and is great for anxiety, stress and insomnia; and her anti-inflammatory properties also help ease pain associated with muscular or joint pain.
Our Mullein is wild harvested in Banks Peninsula, Christchurch.
TO MAKE MULLEIN TEA INFUSION
Infusions are stronger than normal teas and maximise the benefits of the rau. To make a Mullein infusion, pour a cup of boiling water over a small amount of dried leaf and flower. Steep for 5 - 10 minutes and sweeten with honey to your taste. Cinnamon, mint and chamomile also blend nicely with Mullein.
Please note Mullein is covered in small hairs - if you are using fresh Mullein filtering before drinking is required, although using dry herb can reduce/eliminate this.
